Bangladesh thrashed Sri Lanka by 12:0 in SAFF U-19 Women’s Championship

  Bangladesh outplayed Sri Lanka 12-0 in their last group match of the SAFF U-19 Women's Championship being held at the BSSM Kamal Stadium. With the win, Bangladesh advanced to the finals of the championship with 10 points from three wins and one draw. The home team will meet India who had defeated Nepal in the early match of the day. The goal scorers for Bangladesh were: Anuching Mogini (3', 77'), Ritu Porna Chakma (7', 43'), Shahada Akter Ripa (16', 49', 87'), Mossammat Akhi Khatun (47'), Afeida Khandaker (54', 70', 83') and Unnoti Khatun (84'). Sri Lanka head coach Sirisena Manjula Chaminda said his team came to the championship unprepared as the COVID-19 situation did not allow the team to train as required but was hopeful of good showing from the team in the years to come. Nepal defeats Sri Lanka by 6-0 in SAFF U-19 Women’s Championship

Kathmandu: Nepal registered its first win of the SAFF U-19 Women’s Championship with a 6-0 win over Sri Lanka at Bir Sherestha Shaheed Shipahi Mostafa Kamal Stadium in Dhaka on Wednesday. Rashmi Kumari Ghising scored twice and Sabita Rana Magar, Menuka Kumari Ale Magar, Saloni Rana Magar, and Rajani Thokar all got into the scoresheet for Nepal. Ghising scored the first goal in the fifth minute as Sabita scored the second goal in the seventh minute. Menuka scored a goal two minutes before the first half to give a comfortable 3-0 lead in the half time. Rajani scored three minutes after the restart before Saloni made it 5-0 in the 53rd minute of the game. The rout was complete in the 85th minute when Rashmi scored her second. Nepal had played a goalless draw against hosts Bangladesh in the opening match. Nepal has four points from two matches and is second in the table. The top two teams will play in the final. Nepal will play their third match against Bhutan on December 17.

India defeat Sri Lanka by 5-0 in the SAFF U-19 Women’s Championship

The India U-19 Women’s Team got off to a flying start in the SAFF U-19 Women’s Championship in Dhaka Bangladesh, defeating Sri Lanka by a massive 5-0 margin to lodge their first points of the tournament. Nitu Linda scored two goals for the Alex Ambrose-coached outfit, while Santosh, Karen Estrocio, and Priyanka Devi netted one each to complete the rout for India. India started off on the front foot right from the start, and got the lead in the second minute itself when Santosh put it in the net. The midfielder had gotten off a shot that was saved by Sri Lanka keeper TJN Dewage. However, Santosh managed to latch on to the rebound and smashed it into the net. Karen Estrocio doubled the lead three minutes later when she nodded the ball into an empty net after it came over the goalkeeper in her direction. Bhutan thrashed Sri Lanka by 5-0 in SAFF U-19 Women's Championship

Bhutan made a flying start in the five-nation South Asian Football Federation (SAFF) U-19 Women’s Championship outplaying Island nation Sri Lanka By 5-0 goal in the opening match at the Bir Shrestha Shaheed Shipahi Mostafa Kamal Stadium in Kamalapur  on Saturday. In the day’s other match, hosts Bangladesh miserably played to a goalless with Nepal after dominating the match for most of the proceeding at the same venue Saturday evening. With the day’s feat, the Himalayan country top the list securing full three points from one match while Sri Lanka was placed bottom with empty hand, playing one match. Bangladesh and Nepal followed the leader securing one point each playing one match each. In the day’s opener, Pema Yangzom struck two quick goals in span of one minute in the 21st and 22nd minutes (2-0) while Tshering Choden and Sonam Lhamo netted one goal each for Bhutan in the 27th and 45th minutes respectively (4-0).
