  The Indian U-19 girls went down to hosts Bangladesh by a solitary goal in the final of the SAFF U-19 Women’s Championship at the Bir Shreshtha Shaheed Shipahi Mostafa Kamal Stadium, Dhaka on Wednesday, December 22, 202. The only goal in the game came in the 80th minute where Anai Mogini scored to make the difference between the two teams. The first chance for India came in the 5th minute where Priyangka Devi collected the ball from a thrown-in on the right side and went for a cross. The ball though did not find any of the players and went straight to rival goalkeeper Rupna’s hand. In the 16th minute, Bangladesh had their first chance in the game.   Bangladesh outplayed Sri Lanka 12-0 in their last group match of the SAFF U-19 Women's Championship being held at the BSSM Kamal Stadium. With the win, Bangladesh advanced to the finals of the championship with 10 points from three wins and one draw. The home team will meet India who had defeated Nepal in the early match of the day. The goal scorers for Bangladesh were: Anuching Mogini (3', 77'), Ritu Porna Chakma (7', 43'), Shahada Akter Ripa (16', 49', 87'), Mossammat Akhi Khatun (47'), Afeida Khandaker (54', 70', 83') and Unnoti Khatun (84').  The Indian U-19 Women’s team progressed to the final of the SAFF U-19 Women’s Championship 2021 after defeating Nepal 1-0 in their last group stage match today (Sunday, December 19, 2021) at the Bir Shreshtha Shaheed Shipahi Mostafa Kamal Stadium, in Dhaka, Bangladesh. Priyanka Devi scored the match winner in the 66th minute. India Head Coach Alex Ambrose made two changes to his starting XI from their last game against Bangladesh -- Nitu Linda and Lynda Kom coming in place of Kritina Devi and Santosh, respectively. It was India, who seized the initiative early, but they failed to capitalise on their chances.   Nepal defeated Bhutan 4-0 in the SAFF U-19 Women’s Championship to top the group and maintain its chances of entering into the final of the competition. Nepal, currently with seven points, will now play their final group match against India on December 19 and their route to the final will be decided in that match. Nepal will require at least a point to reach the final. India are third after winning two and losing one match while hosts Bangladesh are second. In the match at Bir Sherestha Shaheed Shipahi Mostafa Kamal Stadium in Dhaka, Menuka Ale Magar scored in the second minute of the match to give the lead to Nepal. Kusum Khatiwada doubled the lead in the 18th minute before Rajani Thokar’s 21st minute strike gave a 3-0 lead in the first half.   The India U-19 Women’s Team suffered a 0-1 defeat at the hands of hosts Bangladesh in their third encounter of the ongoing SAFF U19 Women’s Championship in Dhaka today (December 17, 2021). India had earlier registered comfortable victories against Sri Lanka and Bhutan in the first two matches. Shamsunnahar’s 7th minute strike from the penalty spot made the difference between the two sides. The match began with both teams going hard from the first whistle as Bangladesh looked to make the most of their physical prowess and pressed the Indian defenders high up the pitch. The Indian U-19 Women’s team secured their second consecutive victory in as many matches when they blanked Bhutan 3-0 in the SAFF U19 Women’s Championship in Dhaka today. India started the match in a dominating fashion. Their hard work and high-pressing bore fruits as early as the 7th minute when Sumati Kumari opened the scoring. A low cross came in from the right via Amisha Baxla, and Sumati was positioned at the far post to put it into the net. Bhutan tried to get back into the game but they were never able to put the Indian defence under much pressure. Priyangka Devi was the orchestrator in midfield for India, delivering some wonderful set-pieces. In the 17th minute, Priyangka curled in a wonderful corner from the left, and Shilky Devi got on the end of it but her header went off target. Nepal defeats Sri Lanka by 6-0 in SAFF U-19 Women’s Championship

Kathmandu: Nepal registered its first win of the SAFF U-19 Women’s Championship with a 6-0 win over Sri Lanka at Bir Sherestha Shaheed Shipahi Mostafa Kamal Stadium in Dhaka on Wednesday. Rashmi Kumari Ghising scored twice and Sabita Rana Magar, Menuka Kumari Ale Magar, Saloni Rana Magar, and Rajani Thokar all got into the scoresheet for Nepal. Ghising scored the first goal in the fifth minute as Sabita scored the second goal in the seventh minute. Menuka scored a goal two minutes before the first half to give a comfortable 3-0 lead in the half time. Rajani scored three minutes after the restart before Saloni made it 5-0 in the 53rd minute of the game. The rout was complete in the 85th minute when Rashmi scored her second. Nepal had played a goalless draw against hosts Bangladesh in the opening match. Nepal has four points from two matches and is second in the table. The top two teams will play in the final. Nepal will play their third match against Bhutan on December 17.

  The India U-19 Women's Team has a lot of areas of improvement ahead of their second game in the SAFF U-19 Women's Championship against Bhutan, believes head coach Alex Ambrose. India kicked-off their SAFF U-19 Women's Championship campaign against Sri Lanka with a resounding 5-0 win. However, the team is looking for further improvements as they move deeper into the championship. "There are a lot of areas we would like to improve. I think we have to be more clinical in front of goal. We created a lot of chances, and it was good to see that the girls played good attacking football, so the opportunities that came our way, we need to capitalise on," said Ambrose on the same eve of the match.  "We were not tested much in defence because we attacked a lot and had the ball in the opponent's final third. The India U-19 Women’s Team got off to a flying start in the SAFF U-19 Women’s Championship in Dhaka Bangladesh, defeating Sri Lanka by a massive 5-0 margin to lodge their first points of the tournament. Nitu Linda scored two goals for the Alex Ambrose-coached outfit, while Santosh, Karen Estrocio, and Priyanka Devi netted one each to complete the rout for India. India started off on the front foot right from the start, and got the lead in the second minute itself when Santosh put it in the net. The midfielder had gotten off a shot that was saved by Sri Lanka keeper TJN Dewage. However, Santosh managed to latch on to the rebound and smashed it into the net.
