U-17 FIFA World Cup 2017 India
17th edition of the FIFA U-17 World Cup tournament will be hosted by India on 6th to 28 October 2017. This is the first India is hosting a FIFA tournament. A total of 24 teams qualify to play for the final tournament. India is qualified automatically as hosts, the other 23 teams qualify from six separate continental competitions.
Total 52 games will be played in this tournament to decide the winner of
the U-17 FIFA World Cup India 2017. Out of 10 short listed venues in the host
cities (New Delhi, Chennai, Pune, Mumbai, Margao, Bangalore, Kolkata, Kochi,
Guwahati, and Navi Mumbai) FIFA's technical report have selected the following
6 cities, Kochi, Delhi, Navi Mumbai, Guwahati, Margao and Kolkata. The
Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Kochi was the first venue selected.
There will be 6 groups from Group A to E. The top two teams of each
group and the four best third-placed teams advance to the round of 16. The
semifinal will be at Guwahati and Navi Mumbai on 25 October 2017. The final

Nigeria is the most
successful nation in the tournament's history, with five titles (1985, 1993, 2007, 2013,
2015) and three
runners up. Brazil is the second-most successful with three titles (1997, 1999, 2003) and two
runners-up. Ghana (1991, 1995) and Mexico (2005, 2011) have won the tournament twice.
